    First Grade Rocks! Come and learn about First Grade through fun reading and math games with Miss Colson at the helm.

    Adventures in Book Land Let’s get creative with popular children’s books. Come for a story and then stay to make a creative project with Miss Colson.

    STEAM & Literature Through hands-on and minds-on lessons with Miss Colson, we will read popular children’s books and work on STEAM projects that center around the stories. All new STEAM projects this year.

    STEAM: Math + The Arts = AWESOMEAlong with Mrs. Cotterell, students will explore different combinations of math and the arts each day to yield 10 unique and exciting creations. Some of the projects we will do include painting using compasses, creating 3D mazes, learning conversions and following a recipe using only a teaspoon and so much more! Come join the fun and explore the lighter side of math!

    Young Einstein Science CampEvery day Miss Cash and her students will explore different science concepts through books, videos, and collaboration. Students will then work in teams to design, test, and then share their experiment’s results.

    Math Madness – Headed by Mrs. Cotterell, this course is designed to continue the instruction the students have received during the school year with special emphasis on areas in which the students are having difficulty.

    Week 1 – June 15-19, 2020

    International Chefs & Bakers Take a trip around the world with Mrs. Savarese. Students will discover the world through reading, cooking, and hands on activities. Each day, students will learn about a different country around the world. Students will hear stories from this country, learn about its culture, and create a meal and dessert from that part of the world. At the end of the week, students will leave with their very own cookbook highlighting the recipes created over the week.

    Lights Up: Putting on a Play: Under the direction of Mrs. DeVivo, budding actors will perfect their performance skills by participating in a variety of Drama games and exercises that will improve their stage presence, diction, projection, and movement. A large part of the day will be spent working together devising an original play that will be performed in the Student Activities Center for family and friends on the last day of class.  Working on scenery as well as gathering props and costumes for the performance will be included, too!  The final performance will be held in the SAC on Friday, June 19th. AM Session:

    Summer Painting Camp This camp will teach acrylic painting techniques that focus on texture, movement, composition and color theory.  Students will learn to mix their own colors, set up and clean up their painting supplies and paint on canvas.

    Open Arts Studio Feeling creative?   Do you want to make jewelry, or paint, or build with clay, or maybe draw… how about watercolor, metal stamping, macramé, linoleum block printing, weaving, paper embossing or paper quilling.   Join Miss DiMaggio in the Art Room during Open Art Studio and let your creativity run wild.  Each day you can choose where your creativity will take you.

    Week 2 – June 22-26, 2020

    Descendants Camp – Are you rotten to the core?  Do want to be just like a Villain Kid?  Or are you one of Auradon’s most upstanding citizens?  A fun camp for kids who love all things Descendants! Each day, Mrs. DeVivo will lead Descendants Campers to take part in a variety of activities that will include arts & crafts, cooking, singing and dancing.  They will be making Audrey’s Crown, Magic Spell Potion Slime, Evie’s Fashion Bracelets, Fairy Godmother’s Wand and glasses like Dizzy’s just to name a few. In the kitchen, campers will also make some tasty treats like Purple “Mal-shakes”, Uma’s Octopus Cupcakes and a “rotten to the core” candy apple. There will be nail painting, hair chalk and of course you can come dressed up as your favorite character. Campers will also learn a few lip sync/dance routines to popular Descendants songs.  We’ll end camp each day by watching clips from the movies on the big screen in the Student Activities Center.

    Week of June 15-19

    Pre-Season Basketball Team WorkoutsLed by Varsity Coaches Mr. Misson & Mr. Bruckmann, these workouts will give our prospective Mustangs a head start on the 2020-2021 season. Athletes should be prepared to work hard both mentally and physically. Workouts will include conditioning, game situations and video review of both technical and tactical skills.

    Tennis: Session 1 – Instructed in all tennis skills as well as scoring and strategy by Oak Hill Academy’s Director of Personnel and Administration and Tennis Coach (Past 35 Years), Miss Patrice Murray. This camp strives to improve a player’s overall game through instruction from our current Division 1 college coach at Monmouth University for the past 32 years. Miss Murray is in the Monmouth University Athletic Hall of Fame and was a former #1 Singles and Doubles player at Monmouth College as well as has been teaching private and group lessons for over 35 years.
    • open to students entering grades 4-9 (graduating 8th graders are still eligible).
    • Instruction in forehand, backhand, serve, volley, lobs, overheads, stance, grip, scoring & strategy.

    Tennis: Session 2

    Fitness & Fun!  – Mr. Rosenfeld will help campers enjoy some time both outside and in the gymnasium to exercise and play games!  Children will stay active by taking part in a variety of fitness activities and organized games before breaking for the day.
